The Digital Nomad Collab

A digital nomad hard at work

I’m excited to introduce my new project, Digital Nomad Collab!!

Over the past two decades, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work remotely, travel the world, and connect with a growing community of people reimagining what “home” and “work” look like. Along the way, I’ve met educators, creatives, entrepreneurs, and lifelong learners — all united by a shared spirit of curiosity, flexibility, and adventure.

That journey has inspired my latest project: Digital Nomad Collab — a new platform designed to empower aspiring and seasoned digital nomads through practical resources, online courses, and a supportive network of like-minded explorers. Whether you're teaching English online, launching a location-independent business, or simply figuring out how to take your first steps into the remote lifestyle, Digital Nomad Collab is here to help.

My journey as a global citizen spans more than 25 years. I’ve lived as an expatriate in multiple countries — teaching, writing, and working on the move — embracing the nomadic lifestyle long before it was a trend. But recently, life called me back to the U.S. to care for my aging mother. While it’s a quieter chapter, it has given me time and space to reflect, and to begin building something I’ve dreamed about for years: a hub to help others create sustainable, meaningful, and adventurous lives abroad.

One of the most accessible and reliable ways to start earning money while living abroad is by teaching English as a foreign language — and that’s where TEFL certification comes in. Getting TEFL certified opens doors around the world. It’s a passport to flexible, remote work that can be done from anywhere with a stable internet connection — a quiet apartment in Lisbon, a coworking space in Medellín, or a beachside café in Thailand.

TEFL also offers something more than just income: it’s meaningful work. Teaching gives digital nomads the chance to engage with local cultures, connect with students around the globe, and make a lasting impact — all while building communication and leadership skills that translate across industries.

In creating the Digital Nomad Collab, I’ve developed and reworked the TEFL course I’ve delivered for 20 years into a specifically designed program with the modern nomad in mind. It’s practical, flexible, and focused on helping you get started teaching quickly and confidently. It’s just one of the many resources we’re building to support your journey.

This new site brings together everything I love — writing, teaching, connecting, and creating — into one hub where we can learn and grow together. It’s still evolving, but the mission is clear: to offer guidance, tools, and inspiration for anyone ready to build a more flexible, adventurous life.

You don’t have to feel isolated as a nomad.
